Farnborough Air Show part 2 - 09/07/12
After nearly 100 years of military flying, the Ministry of Defence ceased its operations at Farnborough in 2003 and since then, the airfield has gradually developed into one of Britain's premier business aviation facilities.
TAG Aviation became the owners and have invested heavily in the site's infrastructure; the runway has been resurfaced, a new radar system has been installed and an impressive looking terminal and hangar complex has been built on the north side of the runway.
More about TAG Aviation at Farnborough can be found here:-

Part 2 of this post looks at some of the corporate-owned and operated aircraft visiting Farnborough on the 9th of July.
The Austrian flag on the tail fin identifies the country of Cessna 510 Citation Mustang OE-FID, seen here on short finals to runway 24.
Isle of Man-registered Agusta A109E Power M-EMLI.
CentrelineAir are the operators of this Cessna 525 CitationJet G-SEAJ.
Cessna 560XLS Citation Excel CS-DXD belongs to NetJets Europe.
Cessna 560 Citation Excel G-SIRS gets airborne from runway 24. Part ff the TAG Aviation complex can be seen in the background.
Another Austrian visitor is International Jet Management's Cessna 560XLS Citation Excel OE-GGP.
The appropriately registered G-OTAG is a Bombardier 605 Challenger.
VistaJet, based in Salzburg, operate several Bombardier 605 Challengers and in this photo, one of their fleet, OE-INM, descends under a threatening sky
D-AAIJ is a Canadair Regional Jet 850 operated by Jetair Flug of Berlin Schonefeld.
Swiss Air Force Dassault Falcon 50 T-783, a 1981-vintage example, is operated by the VIP flight from Dubendorf air base near Zurich.
Saxonair operate this Europcopter EC135 G-KLNK.
A brace of Dassault Falcon 2000s. EC-JVI operates for Gestair from Torrejon near Madrid, while VH-RAM is a long, long way from home; this 2000LX model is based at Sydney's Kingsford Smith airport in Australia.
The top model in Dassault's business jet range is the Falcon 7X, represented here by G-ITIM.
Another aircraft you'd need a substantial lottery win for is Bombardier BD700 Global Express HB-JGE.
The Dubai Government Air Wing is the operator of this Gulfstream G4 A6-HHH.
NetJets aircraft are gradually being painted in a revised colour scheme. This simple stripe looks particularly fetching on Hawker 800XP CS-DFZ.
The first Learjet, a model 23, flew in 1963. A slightly more up-to-date version is this Learjet 40, G-HPPY.
There are not many 'pusher' aircraft about, but one that does does draw attention to itself is the Italian-designed-and-built Piaggio P180 Avanti. I-TIAF begins its take off run.
Swiss manufacturer Pilatus has sold more than 1100 examples of its PC12 single-turboprop aircraft, amongst which is N812GS.
