Kirton-in-Lindsey - 20/05/12

I will cheerfully admit that I know very little about gliders and although I have taken many thousands of aviation photos over the years, very few are of these unpowered aircraft.

I had hoped to make a start in remedying this with a visit to the former RAF airfield of Kirton Lindsey, home of the Trent Valley Gliding Club. Sadly, the weather gods would not play ball and only one glider managed to get airbourne in the time I was there.

Powered flight at Kirton comes in the shape of Piper PA25 Pawnee 235 G-BFEV, used for aerotowing.
