Doncaster-Sheffield - 24/04/13

Star visitor of the year so far (probably of the last couple of years!) has to be McDonnell Douglas C17 Globemaster III 1226 of the United Arab Emirates Air Force. The C17 had arrived on the 23rd to collect cargo and departed back to Dubai on the 24th.

Unusually, the aircraft was devoid of the usual military identification markings such as roundels and tail flash - it is believed the aircraft had been involved in the recent operation in Mali and the markings had been removed for political reasons.

The opportunity was also taken to have another try at photographing the 'Dreamliner' livery adorning Thomson Airways' Boeing 737-800 G-TAWO, in slightly better light than my previous attempt!
