Museum of Berkshire Aviation, Woodley - 08/07/12

Located five miles east of Reading, on the site of the former airfield at Woodley, the Museum of Berkshire Aviation is probably one of the smaller aeronautical collections in Britain; however, what it lacks in quantity is certainly made up for in quality.

There are several unique aircraft on display and the small building is packed with artefacts relating to the story of aviation in the ‘Royal’ county. Admission for an adult is £3.50 (2012 price) and there is a small tearoom and gift shop on site. Full details can be found at: - http://www.museumofberkshireaviation.co.uk

Well worth a visit!

Handley Page HPR7 Herald G-APWA painted in BEA colours. This aircraft has quite a royal history of its own. King Hussein of Jordan flew the aircraft during a sales tour of the Middle East in 1959, and in 1962, our own Prince Philip piloted the aircraft for 99 hours during an 11-country tour of South America.
