March 31st saw the opening round of this year's Newbold Trophy aerobatic competition. Popularly known as 'The Icicle Meet', the opening event was held at Sandtoft airfield and featured many visiting aerobatic aircraft.
The weather, unfortunately, did not co-operate and high winds and low cloud meant that the competitors had to wait until mid-afternoon before flying could take place.
