The morning of Sunday March 9th dawned sunny and warm, which gave yours truly something of a dilemma.
Should
I make a start on wading through the 1000+ images I’d taken during the
previous day’s trip to Luton and Heathrow? Or should I see if my wife was willing to drive
us to Gamston for breakfast at ‘The Apron’?
Happily, the
prospect of someone else making breakfast appealed to both of us, and we
set off on the short trip down the A1. I had hoped the glorious weather
might lead to an influx of visitors; as it happened there was not a lot
going on, with local aircraft undertaking most of the activity while we
were there.
Piper PA28 Archer II G-EHGF taxies out for departure from runway 21…
..as Cessna 152 G-BNPY taxies in.
G-EHGF gets airborne…
..closely followed by Reims-Cessna 172 G-BFPH…
…and Cessna 152 G-BTVX.
Robin DR400 G-LEOS was next to go.

T67M Firefly G-BLVI still sports the basic colour scheme it wore during
its time with Hunting Aviation, as part of the RAF’s EFTS contract.
